The Dublin Steiner Waldorf Education Network is a community of parents who are working together to establish a Steiner School in Dublin for our children. We are also actively engaged in providing informal educational and childcare programmmes according to Steiner principles.

The Steiner Waldorf approach to education is inspired by the work of Austrian Philosopher Rudolf Steiner. Learning is interdisciplinary and involves the deep integration of the practical, artistic and, when the child is ready, the intellectual, in sympathy with the natural rhythms of the day and the seasons. This "hands, heart and head" approach to education, profoundly and very effectively nurtures the development of children's imagination, creativity, personal meaning and social and co-operative skills.

The Steiner Waldorf approach to education is the fastest growing education movement worldwide. There are now over 1600 Kindergartens and over 1000 Steiner schools at primary and second level worldwide.

There is no dedicated Steiner Waldorf school in Dublin at present. However, the Dublin Steiner Education Network is actively working to create one. We also provide a network of support for parents interested in adopting Steiner principles to promote the full, holistic, non-materialistic and balanced development of our children.
